MUSTANGS FOR UNITY
BRAND BUILD - Mustangs for Unity

Problem
Mustang's for Unity was an SMU group that formed to protect women's choice for abortion. It was formed in response to an aggressive pro-life demonstration that litters SMU's Dallas Hall Lawn with crosses to represent the sheer number of abortions daily- without any support or reasons behind why. Just scare tactics. Mustang's for Unity reached out to me to design their logo on a tight deadline so they could get their response demonstration out there.

The Mustang's for Unity logo was designed to function as a stand-alone mark and as a cohesive logo. The M and U play with the idea of linking and support adding a deeper level of recognition to the logo. The san-serif I went with, Bebas Nueue, is a bold and easy-to-read typeface. It printed well on the picket signs the group printed up for their counter-protest. The block-like lockup of the logo allows it to be printed at the head and bottom of assets for the group going forward on their materials they distributed to around the campus as well. The protest-response was extremely successful and earned the attention of several different media outlets.
